PCH continues to put residents first

A decent home is so important. It is the foundation for a good life, and Plymouth Community Homes has been providing decent homes for people in Plymouth for a decade.

The staff at PCH are superb and dedicated. I have seen their focus on the needs of residents first-hand when the cladding on the three Mount Wise Tower Blocks failed safety tests after the Grenfell Tower fire.

Working with PCH, the City Council and local councillors, we campaigned for a year to get the funding for the urgent upgrades to keep residents safe.

I’m proud that PCH didn’t flinch from their task in the wake of Grenfell and because of their swift action in support of residents, people in and around the Mount Wise tower blocks can sleep safely at night. Well done, PCH, and thank you.

Luke Pollard is the MP for Plymouth Sutton and Devonport.
